    Al-Ahly (Arabic: النادي الاهلى‎) is an Egyptian football club centered in Cairo. Launched in April 1907. Al-Ahly, which signifies “national” in Arabic, is the most crowned club in Egypt, having won the Egyptian League thirty-four instances and the Egyptian Cup thirty-five times.[1] Al-Ahly was named in 2000 by the Confederation of African Football as the African Club of the Century.

    Al-Ahly was formed in 1907 as a club in which leaders of Cairo’s students’ unions could meet throughout the struggle against colonisation.[2]

    Al-Ahly started to dominate the Egyptian sport in the 1940s. In the eighties the club became productive on a continental level, profitable the African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1982 and 1987. They triumphed again in the renamed levels of competition in 2001, 2005, 2006 and 2008 underneath the coaching of the Portuguese Manuel Jose generating them the most crowned crew in Africa, with 6 Champions League titles, four Cup-Winners’ Cups, 4 Tremendous Cups and one particular Afro-Asian Club Championship.

    Al-Ahly was the first club to achieve the FIFA Club Globe Cup two instances adhering to two consecutive appearances in 2005 and 2006 profitable the Bronze Medal in the latter.
